Path supplies a diverse route for private picture expressing

A new online photo expressing network called Path, exclusively for iPhone users, is exclusive in other ways also. But when it comes to buddies, Path goes against the grain of current social network convention by limiting users to just 50 of them. Path is a welcome change of pace, based on some, while self-imposed restricts portend its imminent doom, based on others.

Path restricts iPhone expressing to fifty friends

The Path iPhone app is a brand new social networking service that separates itself from a growing field of Facebook wannabes by allowing users to consist of no more than fifty friends in an account. It also works on privateness. It protects all Path iPhone posts. Path knows that there has been lots of problems with the Facebook privacy which is the reason why they think that having less buddies will be more attractive than Facebook and Twitter policies of having a ton of buddies. According to Business Insider, many who are over 30 have been getting upset that their personal details has been spread like wildfire by Facebook and Twitter.

50 buddies on Path

A 50 buddy limit is what Path utilizes to make it distinct than every person else. Oxford Professor of Evolutionary Psychology Robin Dunbar said, based on previous Facebook executive Dave Morin in a blog introducing Path, “150 is the maximum number of social relationships the human brain can sustain at any given time." There are just 50 people who an individual can really trust as a valuable friend Dunbar states which is how he looks at personal relationships. Thus, Path lets users feel more comfortable about being personal than Facebook or Twitter.

Has Path gone wrong?

Path is a social network dead end, according to Om Malik at Gigacom. Malik writes that Facebook already allows users to control their number of friends. He then states that having an iPhone or smartphone is a requirement to be a buddy on Path. He explained that his fifty closest friends do not all have those phones. He doesn’t give much of a chance for other Path rivals such as DailyBooth, Instagr.am and Picplz. They have all done well. There was a ton of money made from it. But cash cannot purchase you buddies.
