Apple ultimately granted passage of Google Latitude into the iPhone realm. Google Latitude was created for Android in 2009 and an application compatible with the iPhone had been promised ever since. Google stated there have been nine million people that use the application when it introduced Google Latitude for iPhone, a figure that is being disputed. Hopefully the app doesn’t cost a lot of money so people who want to use it won’t have to take out a pay day loans for it.
Google supplying latitude location-sharing app
Google Latitude is nice for many people who want to let people know where they’re. When carrying your smartphone, your friends and family can track your each move. The application is something you are able to get for free. Then, you are able to use Google Maps at any time to share your location. Knowing who is close enough to meet quickly without having to call could be figured out by fellow Google Latitude users. Google claims Google Latitude is 100 percent opt-in. When not using their smartphones, users can turn off Latitude's background updating so nobody can see their location. Privacy settings allow sharing at a city-only level if the exact address is just a little too intimate. You can sign out whenever you need. That way, you cannot be seen at all.
Apple changes attitude on Latitude
Since February 2009, Google Latitude was something you can get on the Android. At the time, the Apple iOS didn’t support the multitasking required to support background updating. The Apple Application Store rejected an earlier Google Latitude application with the reasoning that it could substitute for your iPhone’s native Maps application. Now, Google Latitude can be utilized on the iPhone because the iOS 4 can multitask. The application was also authorized by the Apple App Store. To use the application demands iOS 4 or newer on an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4.
Google Latitude might do better than Foursquare
When Google introduced Google Latitude for your iPhone it claimed that 9 million individuals were active people that use the application. You will find not almost that many for your location sharing application Foursquare. You will find twice as many users for Latitude. Based on TechCrunch, Latitude is build into each and every Android phone with the Maps application. That is how Google can get away with saying there are nine million active users. The Latitude users Google boasts may not be aware that they are using Latitude. It might be running in the background without the users knowing it is giving away their each move.
